THOUGHTS

Thoughts form the process of life, the path we tread on, the life we lead and the way we want to be. it is something that defines you as a person. a person is identified by the way he thinks and it is this thought that makes men common or unique.when i say common or unique i mean thoughts are what lead to actions and thoughts drive the way you live. this is what seperates every person.thoughts are reflections, deliberations, notions, ideas and contemplations

Most aspects of life depend on perceptions and perceptions are nothing but your thoughts. thoughts that emcompass a plethora of meanings. they could be ideas, opinions, suggestions, descriptions, feelings, needs and just about anything. it is these thoughts that help you grow. it nurtures you from a bud to a beautiful flower. a flower with colours, scent and beauty. thoughts are what create the beauty of the mind.

Have we ever realised that one thing that is common among all the species is the power of thought. it is just this one virtue that equals man to all other beings. to think is a gift and this gift brings with it the power of reasoning and understanding.

What differentiates people who are the best at what they do and the rest is their thought process. it is this process that carries you to a different league altogether. L N Mittal, Desmond Tutu, Kofi Annan, Hellen Kellar, Gandhiji, President Kalam,Mother Theresa, Steve jobs,Kalpana Chawla, P T Usha, Dhirubhai Ambani, Ratan Tata, Sunita Williams, Bill gates are all ordinary men and women with extraordinary establishments.they stand out because of what they have achieved and the way the thought. thoughts gave rise to ideas that fuelled ambition. the accomplishment of which was success. they travelled the journey of thoughts of success.

A man who thinks differently is the man who stands out of the normal. a man who is known for his individuality or his persona. his thoughts match none. every time a thought crosses his mind, he accomplishes a new state of being ,a new stage growth.

A thought is the only element that questions, reasons and answers the questions asked. thoughts complete the person. A person without thoughts is like a life without a soul.

ELEMENTS
When people wonder what the world is made up of, there is only one logical conclusion that comes to my mind- the world is made up of various elements. Has anyone ever wondered that a word so small could carry a world of meaning in it.

The world they say is made up of five elements-wind, water, earth, fire and sky. have we ever realised that the worlds being round relates to the presence of the five elements. the earth that forms the foundation, the sky that forms the limit, water that flows downward, fire that raises to the top, and wind that forms a blanket over the four elements. the circle created! interesting isnt it.

Elements could scientifically be defined as basic particles that form the basis of compounds and mixtures.but have we ever imagined that this meaning has more than what just appears to the human eye.it does form a basis, a basis of life.

Elements are not just particles but objects, emotions, feelings and a lot more that form the reason to live. elements do not just add years to your life but add life to your years. if you wonder how, its very simple. life is filled with elements of happiness, sorrow, love, pain, thoughts, friends and many more pieces that are put together to form a beautiful sculpture- the sculpture of life.

Elements also signify a time, a time that was lived,a time that lasts you a lifetime. the time element of life is very significant as everymoment is what we perceive it to be and with every passing moment we form what we call memories. memories that form the element of the past that let you relive all that you wanted to. Memories are elements of experience, an experience that helps you grow into someone beautiful and respectable. an experience which helps you rectify your mistakes and implement into your life something more meaningful.

Elements are present at all times and form a part of the whole world around us.something that forms a part of all creations.

Who says elements are simple to understand and decipher???
Elements are simply complex.

WAR.... AN ART

They say war is an art. How true is this? Whatis the rationale behind it? no one really thinks of this. A war is a negative connotation. Something that in the normal course will be associated with destruction, violence and pandemonium. It is undoubtedly a fight and a fight to achieve.

any brawl is considered unpleasant. if this is the conventional way of thinking, it only depicts the pessimism. a way of life where people are bound by extremism and see nothing but hostilities, unjust practices, inequalities and terrorism. all these feelings start engulfing innocence and optimism. once these emotions perish, what remains is WAR.

if we look at it laterally we will see a fight but this will be a fight for growth, prosperity and peace. every action has a meaning. it could be explicit or implicit. a war need not be a war of mass destruction and end in a catastrophe. it could be a battle in the mind regarding a certain decission to be made that may turn tables in a way unthought of or it could also be a clash of ideas that are intense in nature and could also be a war between countries that are fighting for the betterment of humanity.

when someone leads you in the wrong path, dont be angry because its these paths that will teach you life's greatest truths. we say war is the wrong path, then why do we perceive war as only negative. why do we overlook the morals it give us. they say success is how high you bounce when you hit the bottom. it stands true. this is because when you are faced with a situation like war is when you sketch a plan to either end it or get out of it or emerge victorious.when you are successful at this endeavour, is when success is determined. perhaps this is why they call it an art.

war unites people, to fight it. the unity established is never recognised. all kinds and forms of discrimination is detached. a situation where all are one. Has not war given us our leaders and amnesty of all sorts? are these not forms of gifts.

when there is a fight between the heart and the mind and finally a verdict is pronounced, have we ever realised that we grow as people with every pronouncement. we also fail to realise that when there is this internal fight, God gives us an assurance that both our mind and heart is at work and we live and grow.

with every war fought and every battle conquered, the world gets many more leaders, civilisations, and a moral above all. it defines people who survive to live. it is truly a sight to behold and an art to appreciate. Not everything that is faced can be changed and nothing can be changed until it is faced. War helps you face.

Now, think again. Is there a rationale behind sayin WAR IS AN ART........

LIMITS

What in human terms are limits? It’s very difficult to comprehend and fix a certain definition or draw a boundary. It is something that has varied perceptions and diverse meanings. What may seem the pinnacle for one may just be the top of the tree for another where the sky is the limit.

It would be right to say that limits are a state of mind. What seems an impossible task may just be accomplished by one thought that nothing is impossible. Limits are not pre existent but created. It is something that is manmade. It is not difficult to merge the can and cant. The difference being the limit can be blurred. It is the perception of a person.

Many people have phobias of different sorts and kinds. Some are uncomfortable with animals, some with darkness, some with very crowded spaces and so on. For people to fight the phobia is a limit. The extent to which they test themselves to fight their fear could be called their limits. A test of endurance is also a limit. When your time is not yours and things seem haywire and against you, it’s your fortitude that’s the limit. A certain level of stress beyond which we break, the certain level is the limit.

When limits they say can stretch, they mean it’s the extent to which a person widens, grows and is ready to face a situation. Limits are set by people to achieve a certain goal and once achieved the limit extends further. The extension is limitless. Every person grows with every limit that is touched, with every limit surpassed and every limit conquered. Growth is subjective and every time the frontier of life is tested, and successfully overcome, it signifies the growth of a person and the victory over the limit.

Limit is the boundary, the perimeter, the frontier, and the edge, the maximum and ultimate level. All this is heard and faced by everybody in their life at different situations and times. The similarities in situations of many are uncanny. It is how you come out of this that determines you as a person. Evaluates you as an individual and concludes success. When we overcome the confinement is when we face the harsh realities of life and the way we handle and face this is what values us as beings.

Limits are positive and negative. It is wrong to define limits when it comes to the values, ethics, morals and other essentials to live the life to the best since the more you stretch the farther you get but it would be right to set limits in situations beyond which you know there is nothing to realize. Its good to dare but to dare to death would be futile.

Limits are only found in the mortal, physical self. The soul and beyond faces no such boundaries since it knows that limits are but a mere illusion. A farce so to say. There is no such thing as unachievable. Nothing is impossible. All it needs is hard work and determination. It is the focus like Arjuna’s focus on the bird on the tree that will enable passing all extents. Limits are inexistent once it comes to achieving what is ones goal.

A five-letter word like limit makes the person who they are, defines the individual and aids growth, growth both physically and psychologically. We evolve as stronger people to make a difference to and from what we were to what we are. It’s to challenge the limit that excites the normal life. It’s this challenge that keeps us on the move to achieve and succeed. Limits are omnipresent.

LONELY

The human mind is very complex and dynamic. It wanders from one thought to another. This is when it seeks solitude. An inner calm to be precise. When thoughts flow, we flow along taking with us the power of action and reason. It’s the process of self-discovery.
This is when we desire to be by ourselves.

It’s the time you spend alone that gets your mind in action, to ponder bout the complexities of life and the things around us. This is when we think of situations we can handle, of the day spent, of the mistakes we can rectify, the times filled with joy and laughter and so on. In short, an introspection into the way of being. But is all this being alone or being lonely???

Well being lonely in the literal terms is being all alone. Without friends or foes, near and dear. But what if they’re all present and you chose to stay away?? Is that being lonely too?? One wonders. It’s either out of chance or choice. It is how we perceive it. It is a road we tread to be the way we want to. Even when all of us are happy and content there are times of low when we seek to stay by ourselves and wish for things unsaid. Times where thoughts uncalled for percolate through you.

Many great writers, painters and other respected men have chosen to remain unaccompanied while delivering to the world a piece of exquisite work that is honoured even today. Has been honoured through centuries. With examples like Shakespeare and Einstein, what could compliment the state of being lonely any further.

People often question if being lonely is the right thing. If it be similar to solitary confinement for a while. Is it right to be a recluse? I would say it is subjective. It is the comfort level that determines how happy or content you are. If being lonely helps then so be it. One of the perceptions that second being lonely.

Lonely, the state of agony and pain where there is no one to escort you, to understand you or even someone you can relate to. It is at this time that the want for people grows and the people you left behind to move forward in life are valued maximum. The need for warmth and care is at the pinnacle when you’re lonely. Even a smile from a stranger can make your day. To know the value of this ask a newly wed bride or a person who has left behind a fortune, a fortune not in terms of money but in terms of the relationships. They would relate to being lonely consciously, subconsciously or unconsciously.

There can be various inferences where lonely is attributed to solitude, abandonment, friendless, alone, isolated, recluse and so on, so forth…..every word has a deep meaning to it, a deep thought, a valid deliberation.

It is moments that decide who and what we are. When we are lonely it is then that we learn to grow to be a stronger, self reliant, self-dependant person. I say this because when we are lonely we are at a state where flipping would be the easiest way out. It is when we remain rooted is that defines us as an individual. That assures us a character. Overcoming or using loneliness and moving ahead in life is what determines success in life where it is about I, me, myself. The present way of life.

Loneliness is a power and virtue. Capitalizing on it will teach you to live and instill the power to grow and travel ahead. The road to development.

CHANGES

Change is something all of us long for. It’s a way of life, a mode of being. In the world the only certainty is change. It comes in the smallest of ways. The only reality that cannot be disputed. By no man, by nothing else.

It comes in various forms. It could be a revolution that shakes the very foundation of existence, a small change in the way of living, an alteration in the manner of doing things, a transformation or an amendment. Anything and just about everything can be attributed to change.

A change in a persons income could increase or decrease the standard of living. The way of thinking, the way of looking at life changes. The monetary condition determines more than just what we can imagine. Its not only the change in economic status but also a change in the surroundings that helps a person grow and develop. The growth and development can either be positive or negative. In the end it’s the way a person wants to be. The way he looks at living.

As we grow we are fed with ideas and thoughts and develop a certain outlook. With every passing year, a progress in the way being. As years pass we collect more knowledge, are more aware of the current affairs and are brought to terms with reality. Something that hits hard when brought to light. And as we grow, we transform and develop a certain flat mindset. The perception of life changes at every stage of life. With this we change as people, seek a change in surroundings and also look out for certain attributes in life. All this brings bout what is called a change in life. This is probably why people who see us after a break see a change in all that we do, well almost every thing we do.

The reason memories grow is due to the change in circumstances and the individual we grow to be. With every passing phase we see so much, learn with every step we take and are nurtured with every situation we face. I would term the entire process as change. Memories signify the process of change; remind us from what we were to what we are. It is the certain driving force that can change the course of life when perceived in different lights. Again, a change!

A change is a difference in itself. As times progress change becomes inevitable. From the use of telephones to the development of pagers and the mobiles to the present day palmtops and ipods, all that we see seems an ocean of change. Till sometime back we saw that getting out of the country seemed the in thing but now travel abroad seems just a road away, specially after the advent to moon and mars. How times change. This is probably the biggest mystery unsolved. What seems to be reality at present tends to look like an illusion as time passes.

Change is what we can see, feel, hear and taste. I would say it is one of those few words that can be associated with all the five elements. Something rare and stunning. Think about it and………..

MYSTERY

Who said answers follow every question…. Who said there was a light at the end of every tunnel? Who said that life has the answers to all problems…it makes us ponder whether there is any truth in what they say. I would say certain questions have no answers. None at all. It is the reply to these questions that is a mystery.

Life is but a mystery. It is a kaleidoscope of happenings. A mixture of emotions, thoughts, people, situations and a way of life. Who knows what the future beholds? What it brings with it and how it changes the course of life. A lot of queries remain unanswered. Man has since his evolution grown and developed to what he is today and as times have progressed he has in the quest for answers discovered, invented and produced his answers. But these answers provided are not even close to the obscurity that runs in the human mind.

Mystery is not just the unanswered question but also the events the take place in the everyday life. How does the brain work similarly in similar situations? Why do people follow a set pattern of working? How come the senses control us? Certain truth in life that cannot be deciphered. When a certain happening occurs, why does it take place the way it does and how is that the reactions that are seen are but similar in most situations? Again, the mystery of life.

How, what and who is God? Something that has caused wars, verbal disputes and taken lives of many. Is he the elements of the nature, is it the belief and good that resides within you or is it a stone you worship and believe or are they God men who are sent at various times to this blessed earth to preach and help people. These questions will remained unanswered for a long time to come since the perceptions and understanding varies from one to another.

Mystery not only lies in the fact that each day something new is spoken about but in the fact that everything is always present in the world but it is only at certain instances that it is found. Why does this happen? Is, a lot that is present hidden from the minds eye or is it that we never notice or heighten it. Again questions that remains unreciprocated.

Mystery is a very vast topic to be thought of since in everything we do or think there is an element of mystery. When a mystery is solved it only has two consequences. It either turns out to be a surprise or it turns to horror. Something that is not subject to precincts. Mystery is a part of all that we can imagine and more.

LIFE: A KELIDOSCOPE

Life is a simple four-letter word but way to complex for the human brain to comprehend. They say life is a journey, travel it. The question, how easy is it???

Well there are various people, great men, and visionaries, simple people who give a new meaning to life with reasons unimaginable. A simple situation would add so much you would never have imagined. A deep thought might just shudder the life of you… What’s the darkest imagination???? No one has an answer or must I say it is subjective. It varies with every person, place, situation, and time.
Life is like an abyss. There is no end to where and how it leads. The spectrum encompassing the WH questions forms the basis of this uncomprehendable game-LIFE.

Where in life is a gift as said is called so because it’s a mixture of surprises, happiness, sorrow, relationships and most importantly a journey of self discovery .Its an old saying
what has gone past is history
What is going to arrive is the future
What you have today is a gift and that’s why it’s called the present.
This says it all??? Well think again…

They say life and pleasure. It’s vague. Rather a grey area. Some attribute it to the physical state while some to the mental being. Which is true and which is an illusion? Are we to decide or is it all right. Who makes segments and who distinguishes between the correct and incorrect and right and wrong?? These are just certain examples of what the simply complex connection between “ life and pleasure” is.

Life comes with sorrow. Isn’t this an assumption? The humans mind sees what it wants to. Sorrow and disappointment. Are they the same or are they a world apart. If they differ it is in degree. The question again who classifies the degree? I would say that when you say I am unhappy, just look around, to see how fortunate you are. Always remember in terms of pecuniary status and materialistic value look below and when it comes to good deeds and spiritualism look above. This is perhaps easier said than done. The similarity of these situations for many is uncanny.

When do you say I am in love??? This is a rhetorical question. All say it just happened but how? When? Why? Is it a feeling so natural or is it an attraction towards a person who strikes you or is it just an assurance that there is always someone beside you, with you or along with you? Love is another term that involves a plethora of meanings. It could be friendship, parental love; love between siblings etc. would take a lifetime to understand it.

Anger is an emotion that encompasses degree and kind.

At this beginning, as thoughts flow, will just mention that life is short and just too short to understand. Take life like the flow of currents in a river.

ROADS

A normal man would wonder what could you possibly perceive from the grey stone and gravel laid path with a sidewalk. Well its true what could we possibly think of when we look at it, but take a deeper look at it, is that all a road depicts?????

As the phrase goes a long road ahead, there is so much we can pick out of it. A lifetime ahead of you, the journey of life to be traveled, a process of growth and development, the path we tread to reach our destination, a whole world ahead of us! To come to think of it there is more meaning to it than what just appears to the human eye at a glance.
Have we ever thought of what we are going to do in the future and how we are going to achieve it? Well if we have then the one answer that the complex mind thinks of is hard work, determination and the requisites to be fulfilled, in short I would call it the road to be traveled to success. Success is subjective here.

A road inspires many to get ahead in life. Where we think that it’s the end of a road, we must not forget it might just be a curve that seems to be the end. A curve could imply a change in direction, an alteration in the thought process or just a different way of doing the same thing. When we think it’s the dead end and nothing goes beyond, we fail to realize that if we jump the wall the road continues. The only difference is that it’s on the other side of the “dead end”.

There are times in life when we arrive at cross roads. This is when we ought to make a decision- which road to tread. A decision that can, take us to a world totally diverse. Something unexpected, something uncalled for, a world that is a world apart. When we are faced with situations, it’s these situations that determine the kind of beings we are. The road we chose is the path that is preached and worshiped as our temple. We must be very careful when we opt for a certain path. I say this because we live a lifetime on the chosen road. If we believe in karma and moksha, it’s the road we travel that determines it.

As we travel, we meet people, some who form a considerable part of our lives and some insignificant. But with every person we meet we tend to grow and learn. A positive quality or an unconstructive attribute, an idol or just a follower, people who strike you and some who teach us the harsh ways of the world. As it may be, it is what raises us to what we are. We take a lift; it signifies how we seek help in return for something as meager as a kind word or a titanic reward. Nevertheless, the world practices the survival of the fittest. If you can fight it, you survive it. This can be observed when you walk and someone pushes you to get ahead. Never really thought of it, did we……..

Why is it that simple things we encounter while traveling teach us a lifetime? Why is it that the way we grow is attributed to the way we life and the situations we handle? Why is it said that a learned man is the one who has traveled the right path? How is the direction of all this determined? What does all this mean? In short it is just one aspect THE ROAD.

Does every road lead to a different direction or do all roads lead to Rome? Which is right and which is a farce? What do we believe in? all this is but an ambiguity. A small insignificant object called road can keep us wondering and is as grey as is its colour. Isn’t it? Roads - now does it raise questions on all sides of the grey matter?

ART

Art is a complex topic to deal with. It is a word used to describe things with and without meaning. What I mean by this is not only things that are creative are termed as art but also pieces of work that are abstract and meaning derived keeping in mind the connection between something abstract and art.

It is funny that its difficult to classify art into a certain segment. The word “art” has more than what it just seems. A small painting for instance is art and a beautifully carved sculpture is art too and so is a person with physical perfection. The reach of this word is not subject to boundaries. It can describe just about anything and give meaning to the most inane object or the most absurd mixture of colours.

Art is anything creative. Anything that the human mind perceives and is put forth to view is called art. It could be a small piece in literature, a miniature illustration, a weird mixture of shapes, the way of speaking, a perfectly toned body…….. and lots more. Creativity is not just physical but is also the mental status. Must I mention art is the mixture of mens rea and actus rea. In short it’s the idea and implementation of the idea.

The idea is the germ in the head that carries with it the seed of thought. This thought is then spread like a virus which takes the shape of creativity and in order to cleanse your system, you let this virus out which is putting forth of the creativity, which takes a definite shape. This definite shape is called art!

Art is associated with adorning, beautifying and glossing whatever we do. It is a positive connotation and is something that lights up anything pastel. It gives you a sense of inner peace and calm. It is perceived to be the time taken off from the hustle-bustle of the mad race in the world to be yourself, to do what you please, to grow spiritually and otherwise as a human being and most of all to define who you are.

When we hear the word art, we only attribute it to drawing and painting. We never think of the world of dance, theatre, music, writing, speech and other fields. It’s a common misconception that all of this is cultural and not art. But few know that the line between the two is blur. The two can be mixed without a change in its meaning or purpose. This is what is cultural arts.

A person can be judged by the kind of art he has an aptitude for. His mindset can be determined just by taking a look at what art interests him and what he performs. Whats in the mind can be represented the way you want and this is called art. Its an ancient form of character reading through a persons writing, painting and signature. All of which form a critical part of art. Its mind boggling but, true.

Art is not only a way of expressing persons feelings, thoughts and perceptions but a way in which a person can lay down his creativity and talent. It is what enables a person to grow as a whole, to develop to be a better person and to establish his individuality. Its incredible that a small three-letter word has so much to it and can tell you what a person is along with fulfilling the mammoth task of beautifying the world as a whole. A world without art is like life without the drive to live.
